樂浪開啟台灣海洋旅遊新未來

Taiwan has always been a major yacht manufacturing country, and its yacht export output ranks first in Asia. However, the trend of yachting in Taiwan has not been very popular in the past. In addition to the fact that Taiwan's yacht management laws were relatively strict in the past, which led to people's low willingness to buy, the high price of yachts and the low utilization rate in Taiwan are also one of the reasons. Lelang Yacht Club helps consumers match suitable yachts for rental. Through the concept of sharing, consumers can experience the fun of yachts without owning them.

Taiwan's yacht regulations have been adjusted since 2012. The establishment of yacht management rules has doubled the number of yachts in Taiwan from 68 to 1,135 today (2020 Ministry of Transportation press release). This more than tenfold growth shows that Taiwanese consumers are not lacking interest in yacht travel and marine activities, but rather due to overly cumbersome regulations. As the number of yachts increases, more and more yachts that can dock at piers are being built. There are now multiple piers dedicated to yachts in northern and southern Taiwan.

The rise of Yacht in 2020 also shows that the yacht tourism market is indeed rising rapidly. Yacht mainly operates membership yacht clubs, operates the membership market at the top of the pyramid, and develops yacht rental, berthing, hosting, driving training and certification, and dock theme activities. However, due to its product strategy, it is still a difficult price for ordinary consumers. We believe that market growth requires more public participation, and Lelang has greatly lowered the entry threshold for participating in yacht tourism through the concept of shared yachts, making it easier for yachts to become an option for the general public to travel and hold activities.

The option of sharing a yacht is also very beneficial to the yacht owner. For a general yacht owner, it is already quite a lot to be able to spend more than ten days a year on the yacht, and the rest of the time it can only be left at the dock to collect dust, and it also needs to pay a very high management fee. Just like AirBnb renting out the empty space at home, renting out the yacht to others who want to use it through sharing can improve the efficiency of the use of the yacht, reduce maintenance costs, and even become a way to make money.

Taiwan is surrounded by the sea on four sides and has abundant marine resources. In recent years, the trend of Taiwanese people participating in marine activities has become more and more popular. Whether it is surfing, diving, jet skiing, etc., more and more people are participating in various activities, and yachting is actually one of them. We believe that through a business model like Lelang, we can bring yacht tourism to more people and even provide more diverse marine activities. In the future, marine activities will become a leisure and entertainment option for more Taiwanese people.
